The Chairboys’ involvement in the contest was officially kicked off today (Thursday) by midfielder David Wheeler, who introduced the club to the founders of the Super League Planet and says he wants to see as many Wanderers supporters as possible take an active part in protecting the environment for future generations.

Families play Planet Super League together, tackling green activities to protect the planet, earn points for their football club and track the impact they have on their carbon footprint.

Thousands of families from across the UK participate, representing 39 football clubs. There are over 60 planet protection activities on the Planet Super League website, with more being added all the time. They range from everyday actions like walking or cycling instead of driving, to ingenious ways to recycle clothes or use old packaging in simple craft projects. There are activities to get soccer fans out of the house and interact with nature, as well as creative challenges for rainy days.

Planet Super League is completely free and easy to join. Just go to the website and create a new account. You will be prompted to enter a team name, which can be your last name or group of friends, and then you can select Wycombe Wanderers from the next page titled “Choose your club”. This means that every point you collect will be awarded to the Chairboys and help us climb the Super League.

Every time you complete an activity, you are either helping to reduce your carbon footprint or doing something that teaches you more about the environment and nature. Planet Super League wants to help cut emissions from every household by two tonnes or more; it’s about 10%.

Wycombe Wanderers Sports & Education Trust (WWSET) will also challenge its Premier League Primary Stars (PLPS) participants to get involved. PLPS is the Premier League’s flagship school program, aiming to provide sports education support in one form or another to all primary schools in England and Wales, and is delivered by WWSET in a certain number of local schools.

Billy Ready, Premier League Primary Stars Manager for WWSET, added: “Project Super League is a great way to combine the passion of young people for football with a very important subject such as the protection of our environment, and I know that our participants will love to save their points. and help the Wycombe Wanderers move up the ranks.
