A regular meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Issues of the Interdepartmental Center under the Headquarters of the Coordination, established for the centralized solution of the problems in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, was held,Tendency reports Nov. 25.

The meeting brought together employees of the representative offices of the President of Azerbaijan in Shusha and the liberated part of Aghdam, the ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources, Economy, Energy, ‘Agriculture, the National Agency for Tourism, Water Improvement and Management OJSC and other government agencies.

The members of the working group were informed of the comprehensive monitoring carried out in the liberated areas to assess the environmental situation, in particular to control the pollution of transboundary rivers.

Also, they were informed of the work of elaboration of topographic maps for economic design in the liberated territories, of the proposal to use the local resources of building materials in the process of restoration works.

In addition, the members of the working group were informed of the “Forest fund restoration program for 2022-2026”, which provides for the restoration of the forest fund in the liberated territories.

It was also reported that within the framework of the restoration of the forest fund in the liberated territories, within the framework of cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey, work has started on the establishment of a ” Friendship Park “and a closed root nursery park with an area of ​​20 hectares each.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy provided information on the concept of “Green Energy Zone in Liberated Territories”.

The concept includes ways to maximize the potential of renewable energy sources, possible energy supply scenarios, as well as options for the use of solar panels, solar collectors and other efficient and “green” energy technologies. .

Information was also provided on public lighting, the use of “green” technologies in the power supply of public buildings.

In addition, the members of the working group were informed about the planning in the field of solid waste management in the liberated territories.

The working group on environmental issues works in close coordination and exchanges information with the other working groups of the Interdepartmental Center.

The headquarters of the coordination, created by decree of the President of Azerbaijan on November 24, 2020, is headed by the head of the presidential administration Samir Nouriyev.
