In her exhibition âThe Warp and the Weft,â Cushendun-based artist Katy English explores the fragile threads that unite our world.
Through a series of large-scale atmospheric drawings, the artist reflects on the sense of loss of control and isolation felt by many during the pandemic as well as the capture of the sense of fragility of the natural world.
Susan Mannion’s âBeyond Darknessâ exhibit features large enamel work depicting a figure contained in a small space while reaching out to the outside environment for comfort and consolation. Like Katy, Susan is influenced by the landscape and patterns of nature, exuding a sense of place, time and memory.
Both artists have exhibited extensively and their work is part of international collections.
“The Warp and the Weft” and “Beyond Darkness” will continue until Saturday, October 30th.
Along with the two exhibitions, there will be a series of creative learning activities for children and adults.
