Liebherr-Aerospace announced at the 16th MAKS Airshow that it has signed an agreement with VR-Technologies, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters, to be the supplier of the environmental control system for the company’s new civilian helicopter, the VRT-500.
The agreement for the supply of the VRT-500 light single-engine multi-purpose helicopter with the environmental control system also includes the cooling system. VR-Technologies anticipates that the scope of applications of the VRT-500 will be very diverse – from private use, taxation, tourism, news / media and logistics to rescue and ambulance services.
The VRT-500 delivery forecasts are quite solid. The helicopter was first unveiled to the world in 2018. Liebherr-Aerospace is proud to announce its partnership with VR-Technologies, which channels proven expertise in the development of helicopters that meet current market demands.

The VRT-500 is a lightweight, five-passenger, single-engine, multi-purpose helicopter that is expected to be a big hit in Europe with EASA certification on the horizon. With a cruising speed of 225 km / h (approximately 140 miles per hour) and a maximum range of 860 km (approximately 534 miles), this helicopter is destined to become a versatile solution for a multitude of industries.
