Azerbaijan was represented for the first time at the 5th International Exhibition of Crafts and Creation Révélations in France, reports Azernews citing Azertac.
The Révélations are a major economic event for contemporary creation in France and abroad.
The prestigious biennale assures creators of the presence of key decision-makers and prescribes to enrich their network and generate new orders.
The large-scale event brought together more than 500 participants from 33 countries in Paris.
During the biennale, the stand of Azerbaijan was organized with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The phenomenal work of Elvin Nabizadeh “Day and Night” was presented on the Azerbaijani stand.
Aude Tahon, president of the 5th International Exhibition of Crafts and Creation Revelations and of the French Federation of Crafts (Ateliers d’Art de France), welcomed Azerbaijan’s participation in the artistic project.
She pointed out that the main objectives of the biennale are to identify and promote talents in the field of artistic creativity.
Aude Tahon also informed about other decorative art fairs organized by the Ateliers d’Art de France and expressed her wish to see Azerbaijan also represented in these fairs.
“Creative professions are a good guide in this turbulent world. Entirely optimistic, sustainable and creative spaces, these professions bring hope, imagination and joy,” said Aude Tahon.
She pointed out that these art fairs serve as a space for international dialogue on art.
Aude Tahon was impressed by Elvin Nabizadeh’s work “Day and Night” after seeing his picture. Thus, the organizers of the project decided to exhibit the works of Azerbaijani artists at the Paris Biennale.
“We were amazed when we first saw the photo of the work “Day and Night” exhibited at the biennale. We were very interested to see it live and find out what material it was made of. It is an honor for our fair to present it. I am sure that thanks to this work, visitors will become better acquainted with Azerbaijan,” she added.
Aude Tahon expressed her confidence that visitors will discover Azerbaijan more deeply through this work of art.
The sculptor Elvin Nabizadeh said he was honored to participate in such a biennial.
“I express my deep gratitude to the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its leaders for their initiative and support which rekindled my creative spirit and gave me the opportunity to participate in such a grand biennale,” said Nabizadeh.
Through his installation “Day and Night”, the artist raises awareness of environmental issues, including air pollution, and the problems of plastic waste, which are one of the important problems today.
“Current problems and difficult events in the modern world, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic, to some extent have weakened the creative spirit of talented people,” he said.
The “Day and Night” installation has a double character and is interactive.
Thus, visitors, gathered around the installation, will be able to feel more deeply integrated into the work.
